For those engaged in steel plate processing, steel plate welding and stainless steel cutting are basic operations, but it takes skill to do a good job of simple basic operations. Here are some tips for cutting medium and thick plates, hoping to help you complete the work faster and better.
Cutting method with meandering lead-in line
In order to ensure the integrity of the cut part, the starting point of cutting cannot be on the outline of the part. The outer contour of the part should be cut off outside the part contour. For the inner contour of the part, the cutting should be done within the contour of the part. For steel plates with a thickness greater than 60 mm, the preheating time reserved for central flame cutting is greater than 120 seconds. Directly piercing the steel plate will shorten the service life of the cutting nozzle. In addition, the perforated slag is easy to splash on the cutting nozzle, which may even affect the cutting quality of the product in severe cases. Therefore, when the typesetting is feasible, it should be cut from the edge of the steel plate as much as possible, so as to avoid the above problems to a large extent. The job requires relatively low operator skills.
But this method is easy to cause another defect, that is, it is easy to cause the steel plate to be deformed by heat. In this regard, we have found through trial and error that the problem of thermal deformation of the steel plate can be avoided by introducing wire cutting in a zigzag manner. This cutting method is to cut in by bending, so that the remaining material of the plate creates a clamp between each other, thereby limiting the deformation of the plate. Applying the zigzag line cutting method to flame cutting of medium and thick plates can improve the cutting quality of medium and thick plates very well.
Comprehensive consideration of plate cutting
When preparing materials for cutting and typesetting, the reserve center pays more attention to the effect of cutting itself. The main consideration is the feasibility of cutting, improving material utilization and cutting efficiency. But from the point of view of the entire product processing life cycle, cutting is only one part of it. In an excellent cutting process, we must consider the factors of the next process, coordinate the overall situation, and consider the whole. Therefore, for parts that need to be processed or bent after cleaning the slag, the cutting process itself should be considered when laying out the layout, and the front side of the cleaned part should be placed on the side that is convenient for machining or bending operations. On the other hand, since the cutting deformation cannot be completely avoided, the non-processing edge must be dealt with first in the typesetting.
There are many ways and methods to affect and improve the quality and efficiency of plate cutting. The above two methods have been applied in production and have achieved good results. I hope that these two methods can play a role in attracting jade, and can help you better improve efficiency and finished products when cutting medium and thick plates.
